Merit is an offsite construction and digital manufacturer based in the North East of England, specialising in the design, manufacture and build of high-quality, technically complex facilities for the healthcare, biotech, pharmaceutical and education sectors.

Headquartered in Cramlington, Northumberland, Merit employs 360 direct staff.

At Merit, we utilise advanced methods of offsite construction to manufacture 75%-95% of a facility in our factories and work exclusively with a British supply chain. Through Merit’s innovative approach, our team can deliver projects in a third of the time compared to traditional methods of construction.

In line with its impressive growth plans, Merit kick-started 2024 with the announcement of notable healthcare contracts including a 48 bedded therapy-led rehabilitation unit for Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust and a new multimillion pound NHS Medicines Manufacturing Centre for North East and North Cumbria region’s NHS to be based at Seaton Delaval. Alongside these projects, Merit is also delivering Berwick’s new £35m Community Hospital and Solihull Hospital’s new state-of-the-art £25m Elective Hub (Operating Theatre Block).

Merit provides a ‘one stop shop’ solution for customers. Unlike some competitors, our expert team manages the whole process in-house…

• Design: our vertically integrated design solution produces manufacturing drawings which our factory then makes
• Manufacture: our products are manufactured in our factory and are then transported to site for installation
• Assemble: Our products are assembled offsite in our factories to increase productivity and reduced carbon emissions associated with on site activity
• Validate: we validate HVAC and other building service installations to GMP, MHRA, GFA and bespoke client requirements.
