Isolated power supply (IPS) and theatre control panel manufacturer, Bender UK, which claims to be the market-leader in its field, has entered the market for theatre integration systems (see also theatre equipment article, pages 55-66).
Having ‘researched the market’, and found ‘an established player’ to partner with, the company has become the sole UK distributor for Steris Inc, favouring Steris’s core values – ‘reputation for quality, innovation, and technical competence’, which it says ‘mirror our own’. MD, Steve Mason said: “Adding the Steris portfolio of clinical lighting, pendants, integration systems, and operating tables, to our own, seemed a natural move. Well-positioned as a single source supplier, we can now offer a complete range of operating room equipment, including clinical lighting, pendants, surgeon’s control panels, uninterruptible and isolated power supplies, PACS viewing stations, battery back-up units, networked clocks, operating tables, and UCV solutions.” Bender’s Harmony iQ Integration system (pictured) reportedly provides ‘a simple, single point of control, that allows surgical teams to route all images, video, audio, and data they need, to any monitor, recording device, or remote location’. Harmony iQ can also control theatre infrastructure such a clinical lighting, music systems, and videoconferencing – ‘at the touch of a finger’. Since entering the new partnership, Bender says it has secured a number of turnkey theatre packages.
