Contract extends specialised FM system development

Software developer for the public sector Asckey Data Services has won a five year contract from the Healthcare Facilities Consortium (HFC) to act as partner for the proven Eclipse-fm facilities management and helpdesk system, widely used in NHS Trust hospitals.

The popular Windows and web-based Eclipse-fm system has been developed on behalf of the NHS Confederation for the special needs of facilities management in the NHS. Under the contract, Asckey Data Services will be developing the software further.

Hospital equipment needs meticulous maintenance and long-term proof that work has been carried out to required standards by qualified staff. Eclipse-fm has been designed in conjunction with experienced NHS facilities managers to provide long-term audit and traceability, while making best practice standards the norm.

Martin Pincott, technical director of Asckey Data Services, commented: “Our NHS users have helped us develop a facilities management system that is especially relevant to today’s health and safety conscious world. With the stability this new five year contact affords, we intend to take Eclipse-fm into many more NHS hospitals and other organisations that need to manage their equipment long term in a fully provable manner.”
