Oasis is preferred PAS

Siemens Medical Solutions and Dudley Hospital NHS Trust have selected Capula to supply and implement its Oasis Patient Administration System (PAS) as part of the ongoing PFI project at the Trust.

Siemens has worked with Dudley for five years, helping the Trust to stay at the forefront of medical technology and deliver the highest standard of patient care. During the recent process of evaluating a substitute PAS replacement, the key criteria to satisfy were the meeting of stringent requirements for a modern ‘Connecting for Health’ compliant system and ensuring that the PAS was capable of interfacing with Siemen’s Soarian Clinical System which is installed throughout the Trust.

The Oasis applications that will be delivered as part of the implementation strategy are the Oasis PAS, A&E and Maternity functionality. Version seven of the Oasis PAS system will be implemented at the Trust. This version is capable of being deployed when required as a fully functional Web application – highlighting Capula‘s continuing commitment by ensuring the Oasis system remains a state-ofthe- art application.

Garry Marshall, IT services manager at Siemens Medical Solutions said: “We are pleased to be working with Capula going forward. Siemens has an excellent working relationship with Dudley Hospital NHS Trust and we are certain the Trust will see the benefit of using Capula’s leading Oasis PAS System.”

Capula’s professional services team, who will work closely with Siemens at the Trust to ensure the system is live during 2006, will implement the Oasis system.

Janet Powell, IT Trust Manager at Dudley Hospital NHS Trust said: “The Trust has been impressed by the look and feel of OASIS and the staff are looking forward to using a new, more modern PAS application.”
