MiE gamma camera for Birmingham

The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Birmingham, under the leadership of Professor Michael Frenneaux, has recently acquired an MiE Low Energy Mobile Scintron gamma camera in order to undertake clinical research in heart failure patients.

The system, which was acquired from Southern Scientific and funded by the British Heart Foundation, provides flexibility and ease of use. It is being used to undertake exercise cardiac MUGA scans, as well as forearm venous studies to assess the role of venous endothelial function in heart failure.

The MiE cameras are manufactured in Seth, Germany and are available in the UK through Southern Scientific. The systems have full ISO 9000 acceptance, CE marks and full NEMA and IEC quality control accreditation.
