The online CPD recording system, MyPath, launched in 2010, accessible via the IHEEM website, and which many members have since taken advantage of, has been ‘rebranded’, and is now called ‘mycareerpath’.
The underpinning framework used by the online tool – which allows individuals to plan and record professional development activity – has been aligned with the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC), and, thus provides an ideal tool for individuals working towards registration as Engineering Technician, Incorporated Engineer, or Chartered Engineer. This bespoke professional development tool, managed by the Engineering Council on behalf of the IHEEM and other professional engineering institutions, is regularly updated, with new functionality added as required by user institutions. The version on the IHEEM website also includes a Continuing Professional Development profile, enabling users to record their CPD activities electronically. While use is restricted to IHEEM members, any potential new users need only register – a straightforward process, after which they can start to record their development activities immediately.
