The two leading trade associations representing catering equipment manufacturers – the Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA), and distributors – the Catering Equipment Distributors Association (CEDA), are to work more closely together.
The two organisations say there is now more opportunity to collaborate on key issues, including sustainability projects. “CESA and CEDA are also working with the British Hospitality Association and the Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI) to agree a common approach to reduce the industry’s carbon footprint,” explained Nick Oryino, CESA’s chair (pictured). “Energy- and resource-saving equipment will be key.” The two associations will also stage a joint technical conference, on October 2, 2013, at the Hellidon Lakes Hotel, Northamptonshire. “Both the equipment and systems we work with, and the regulations we operate under, are increasingly complex,” said Jack Sharkey, CEDA’s chair. “The conference will examine a wide variety of issues, such as health and safety legislation, servicing schedules, and new technologies.”
