MP visits training centre

Systems manufacturer for the plumbing and heating industry, Pegler Yorkshire, has invested £250,000 in a new interactive training centre at its Doncaster site. Created to showcase its complete product range to installers and customers, the facility allows products to be tested, viewed, and each’s benefits clearly understood, which the company says will allow it to ‘fully connect with its customers’.

“Our Group CEO described the training centre as setting the standard for the rest of the businesses within Aalberts Industries,” said Stuart Anderson, group MD, Pegler Yorkshire. Visitors can turn valves and see how to balance a system, view a fully fitted underfloor heating system, experience live demonstrations, and view training packages via interactive touchscreen facilities. There is also an enclosed training pod where up to 12 people can receive detailed training on specific products, a fully operational Meibes Thermal Interface Unit, a wide range of Pegler taps, valves, pipes, and fittings, and the ‘e-control’ energy management system, which delivers heating, hot water, and cooling. One of the early visitors was Doncaster Central MP, Rosie Winterton, who was given a tour by Stuart Anderson (pictured left), and marketing and business development director, Phill Jackson. She said: “The facility further demonstrates that the engineering industry is ever evolving, and we should place huge importance on developing the skills of not only our youngsters, but also of individuals who will benefit from the innovation of others.”
