Mansell has been appointed to design and construct a £5.2 million community hospital in Bicester for project developer and investor, Kajima Partnerships.
The new hospital, on which work should start this month, will include a 12-bed facility with an ambulance base, first aid unit, out-of-hours and outpatient areas, imaging and physiotherapy suites, offices, and a community base. This latest contract award adds to Mansell’s growing healthcare portfolio within the Thames Valley region, and is the second project it has delivered for this customer, the first being Brentwood Community Hospital in Essex. Mansell’s Thames Valley regional director, Jonathan Winter, said: “It’s great to have been appointed to deliver Bicester’s new community hospital. Stakeholder engagement with members of the local community has been a key part of the project to date, and will continue throughout the contract period through projects such as the outdoor gym, therapy garden, and two public art commissions.”
