Achieve savings through building optimisation

Energy management and environmental solutions specialist, EP&T Global, has joined IHEEM as a Corporate Affiliate Member ‘to help healthcare estates managers achieve significant energy and cost savings’.

The organisation, with offices in London, Australia, the UAE, and Hong Kong, claims ‘a track record of delivering awardwinning results using a pioneering energy monitoring and management approach’. Its suite of EDGE technologies includes ‘a dynamic monitoring system that can remotely collect and analyse performance data of a building in real-time, enabling estate managers to resolve anomalies in operational systems, and identify consumption hotspots as they happen’. The company said: “This unique approach has provided invaluable intelligence to improve stakeholder engagement, measure the impact of sustainability initiatives, and ease reporting obligations. For example, EP&T Global has helped British Land save £1 m in just three years, contributing to the company winning the CIBSE Energy Management Award for the second year running. Significant results were also achieved at the RPAH Medical Centre in Sydney (pictured), where a 40% reduction in energy was achieved in the first year alone.” EP&T Global also offers ‘an innovative financing model that ensures energy savings are achieved with minimal capital expenditure’. The company added: “Incentives such as the ‘performancebased guarantee’ mean we contractually underwrite energy saving targets of up to 25%. If this target is not reached, we are obliged to pay the difference, but this is yet to happen. “With predictions of 40% energy price rises by 2020, some key challenges will emerge for those with increasing budget pressures to take action now. Those that do so can reap the rewards – through unlocking cost savings and, most importantly, optimising the operational performance of their hospitals and medical centres.”
