EBME managers and technicians attending Eastwood Park for the latest accredited medical equipment training are now benefiting from ‘substantial development and investment in this niche technical training portfolio’.
The training centre has invested in both a new ‘suite’ of medical testing equipment, and in strengthening and expanding its training team resource. EBME specialist, Dr Kenneth Pereira, has been brought in to lead the programme, supported by Andy Falconer, of RM Future Developments, (a former Avensys Medical employee), alongside engineers from JPen Medical, specialists in on-site testing and calibration of medical/healthcare equipment. Dr Pereira (pictured, with some of the new equipment), has worked in education, training, and medical electronics, for the past 30 years, and has been involved in updating the current Eastwood Park course curriculum, and extending the breadth of equipment available for ‘handson’ maintenance training. Eastwood Park added: “Predominantly the courses provide maintenance skills and knowledge of the most commonly available biomedical equipment. Equally importantly, delegates gain a sound understanding of physiology and electronics, to improve communication and efficiency between technicians and clinicians/physicians.”
