Dennis Markey has been appointed, and has now taken up the role, of Chief Operating Officer for NHS Property Services.
The organisation set up by the Department of Health to develop and manage around 4,000 NHS assets covering estates, property, and facilities, and more than 3,000 staff, following the abolition of Strategic Health Authorities and Primary Care Trusts. Formerly director, Integrated Services, at Serco Group, with responsibility for running IT, real estate, and facilities management business contracts across the UK, Ireland, and Europe, his previous experience includes senior directorship roles in prominent companies, including Grontmij, Alfred McAlpine, Hazell Carr, and Capita Group. Simon Holden, the NHS Property Services CEO, said: “I am delighted to welcome Dennis to the company. The Chief Operating Officer is a critical role. He brings extensive experience in senior board positions in both UK and internationally-listed property companies, working closely with both private and public sector clients.”
