British Gas, which works closely with healthcare organisations ‘to deliver significant guaranteed energy and carbon savings via optimisation and upgrading of an estate’s energy-related assets’, says it can offer ‘solutions that deliver end-toend, self-funding projects’ using a comprehensive range of innovative energy and carbon reduction measures.
The company said: “NHS organisations are operating in a particularly tough environment. Year-on-year cost efficiency savings of at least 5% are required, and more challenging carbon reduction targets have also been set, requiring the NHS to reduce its 2007 CO2 emissions by 10% by 2015, and by 34% by 2020.
