BSI has launched the BS 8544 Guide for lifecycle costing of maintenance during the in-use phase of buildings.
It says the costs incurred in maintaining buildings following their construction ‘are often not fully realised’. The new guidance is designed to enable facilities managers, quantity surveyors, clients, and owneroperators, to run their operations effectively, and help them estimate the long-term costs of ownership/operation.
