Trackless mobile shelving system

A new trackless mobile shelving system that ‘promises to transform high density storage’ has been launched by Link 51. .

‘Easy-to-install’, it provides clear, easy access to open aisles throughout the installation. Featuring a single guide rail attached to the floor along the wall to keep the shelving unit aligned, the design means the floor can be ‘reinstated with minimum effort’ if the shelving needs to be relocated. The design removes the need for the usual fixed tracks, ensuring unobstructed aisles and easy access for trolleys or steps, and removing trip hazards. The lack of tracks also facilitates cleaning, as there are no grooves or crevices to catch and hold debris. The trackless system complies with the European Accessibility Act, while buyers can choose from manual or mechanical operation. An electrically powered drive system will be available soon, while ease of accessibility for kick steps, platforms, and access equipment, should encourage compliance with health and safety and manual handling regulations
