While the ‘sleek and often complex profiles of modern buildings offer limited decorative possibilities’, claims French-headquartered ‘professional coating innovator’, Visio-Tecnic.
The company’s patented Numericoat technology – ‘an innovative synthesis of digital print and industrial surface coatings’ – delivers ‘an advanced professional solution for creating customised, durable, architectural graphics, signs, displays, images, and colours, on a variety of today’s building construction materials’.
“Starting with a standard plain substrate – metal, glass, or composite,” explained commercial and marketing director, Martin Saunier-Plumaz, “our production team takes a digitally-generated image of the customer’s choice, and captures it on the substrate within Numericoat’s two special layers of spray-applied thermo-hardening primers. The Numericoat base layer ‘anchors’ the flatbed inkjetprinted image, and the top overlamination coat gives it perfect protection. It is fire and UVresistant, and has anti-graffiti functionality.”
The Numericoat panels come with a 10- year ‘durability guarantee’, and printing can be undertaken on panels up to 6.5 metres long and two metres wide – using UV-cured acrylic inks.
