The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), Interserve, and VINCI Facilities, have teamed with careers advice innovators, Plotr, via the Plotr online careers resource, ‘to help young people discover careers they didn’t know existed’ – in this case in facilities management’.
Plotr is a ‘revolutionary’ new website, ‘designed to help 11-24 year-olds discover and explore careers and seek opportunities’. At its heart is a ‘gamification’ platform called ‘The Game’, which ‘uncovers careers matched to young people’s own skills, interests, and personality’. The three organisations have worked with Plotr to ‘map’ roles within FM into ‘The Game’, alongside the ‘illustrative FM World’, showcasing the sector.
The BIFM explained: ‘Facilities Management World’ features on Plotr’s homepage, joining over 30 existing ‘worlds’ including fashion and beauty, sports and fitness, and sales and marketing. The ‘worlds’ are a gateway to articles, videos, in-depth career and employer profiles, plus the jobs and experience finder, and provide critical career insight for users.”
