The Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) has introduced two new developments that it says ‘make it easier for people to undertake this recognised qualification that helps estates managers to become more aware of their fire door responsibilities and their duties under the Regulatory Reform Order’
FDIS is ‘an online education programme for people responsible for property to gain an in-depth understanding of the technical issues and legal obligations around the specification, installation, and maintenance, of fire doors’. Once students have completed the seven online modules, and passed the FDIS Diploma test, they can go on to become Certificated Inspectors by undergoing an independent assessment conducted by Exova WarringtonFire. The online education programme was recently made available on mobile devices.
For those keen ‘to go on to become Certificated Inspectors’, FDIS now has an increasing number of facilities where the assessment can be undertaken.
