Versatile electrical appliance testing technology is helping one of England’s largest hospital NHS Trusts, the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust, maintain ‘the highest standards of safety’ at the Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal Hospitals.
Portable appliance test engineers based within both hospitals’ medical engineering departments are using Seaward test equipment to ensure electrical equipment and appliances do not pose a danger to users. The in-house PAT engineers test all types of electrical appliances used in wards, theatres, offices, kitchens, and laboratory areas, except specialist patient-connected medical equipment.
The in-house test team operates an integrated PAT programme that links equipment testing using a Seaward Apollo 600 tester, supported by PATGuard 3 results management software, to comprehensive test records and a central asset management database for each site.
