A new SONOLINE G40 ultrasound sytem is proving its versatility in the maternity unit of Manor Hospital in Walsall, complementing the imaging provided by the existing Acuson Sequoia and two G50 systems.

The G40 is used to assess foetal growth, presentation, placental site, liquor volume and cord blood flow measurements. It is the newest member of the Siemens ultrasound family and its intuitive user interface allows clinicians to offer comprehensive, diagnostic ultrasound examinations to more patients in less time. The compact system design offers easy transportation and manoeuvrability and the integrated workstation includes a built-in CD drive for cost-effective output and archiving of data.
