EDL Lighting manufactures and supplies a wide range of medical and surgical lighting. The range includes operating theatre lighting, minor operation lamps and examination luminaires. To complement the medical and surgical lighting there is an extensive range of illuminated magnifiers and over-bed luminaires.
A design and build facility for task lighting and associated products is available along with variants of the company’s standard products.
The original EDL was formed in 1922 to manufacture lighting and cable supports. In August the two major product groups were split to form EDL Industries Ltd and EDL Cable supports Ltd. In 1999 the lighting company was purchased by its long-term management through a management buyout.
