Trumpf Medical has moved from the Luton base of the company that gave it its name to the headquarters of Hill-Rom, the group that will ‘shape its future’.
It became a Hill-Rom company in August 2014, and now the entire business has been transferred to Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire, where it will benefit from the group resources focussed on the medical technology market.
Trumpf Medical claims a number of ‘firsts’ to its credit. These include the first installation of ceiling pendant systems in 1978, the development of the patented operating table coupling point system in 1997, the introduction of what it says was the world’s first surgical LED lights in 2005, and ‘the market launch’ of the modular ceiling-mounted supply unit in 2010.
Under the Hill-Rom banner, significant R&D investment will continue, while new product introductions are scheduled for ‘mid-Spring’.
“Our re-location to the Hill-Rom headquarters will benefit Trumpf Medical and its customers in many ways,” explained MD, Oliver Law. “There is excellent synergy between the group companies, giving Trumpf Medical greater access to the hospital community and dedicated support as we continue to grow. Our new central location is also logistically better, as it allows us to serve the entire UK market with greater ease.”
