Innovations in off-site construction

Healthcare building specialist Yorkon will be showcasing its off-site construction services, as well as launching a range of new design options at this year’s conference and exhibition.

Yorkon, a subsidiary of Portakabin and winner of the Off-site Manufacturing Specialist of the Year award for the third consecutive year, undertook more than £20 million of work in the healthcare sector last year. Recent schemes include the completion of two independent treatment centres on time and on budget. Over the past five years, the company has delivered 96% of building projects on time and 94% on budget.

Yorkon will also be launching a series of new innovations in off-site construction. The developments include a design for facetted modules, which can be used to create sweeping curved façades, shaped atria and feature entrances. This allows more efficient development of curved and irregular sites, and greater design flexibility for architects and specifiers.

An expanded suite of design options also includes ribbon windows and claddings, such as cedar boarding, composite metal panels, terracotta tiles, render and brickwork.
