Decontamination specialist, AVM Services, has joined forces with MMM Medical Equipment UK to deliver training on all types of sterilisers, washer-disinfectors, and ultrasonic and endoscope washer-disinfectors.
AVM will conduct selected courses at a new purpose-built training facility at MMM Medical Equipment’s UK headquarters in Leeds, all covering the requirements of relevant NHS and European standards, and able to be tailored to suit the level of knowledge already attained at individual sites, or for staff new to decontamination.
Dates for 2015 courses are:
• 15 – 19 June: Washer Disinfectors – Periodic Testing (ENG05).
• 20 – 24 July: Porous Load Sterilizers – Annual Testing (ENG06).
• 17 – 21 August: Endoscope Washers – Periodic Testing (ENG08).
• 21 – 25 September: Authorized Person (Decontamination) (APD01)
The courses are aimed at operators, users, and engineers responsible for operation and testing of decontamination equipment. Certificates of attendance are presented and, where applicable, City & Guilds certificates awarded on successful completion of practical / written assessments.
The training will be conducted by Ray Martin, who has over 25 years’ experience in electrical engineering, and extensive knowledge of decontamination in healthcare, underpinned by a sound engineering background of almost 20 years within NHS estates and sterile services roles.
