Vanguard makes senior appointment

Vanguard Healthcare, which operates the world’s largest fleet of mobile healthcare facilities, has appointed a seasoned former NHS employee with Board-level expertise to the new role of business development director.

Steven Peak has over 25 years’ experience in the acute hospital sector. With the NHS since 1989, he has held Board-level roles at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust, Birmingham Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, and The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, and is currently a non-executive director for Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust.

During his time in the NHS, he was part of, or directly led, several major clinical service reconfiguration projects at large acute hospitals.

He said: “Having worked to improve the efficiency of services at a number of Trusts around the country, I immediately saw the benefit Vanguard’s mobile healthcare facilities could offer to the NHS. It is generally accepted that there is a national need to improve access to services across the board, and to be able to meet other capacity challenges when they arise. Having this kind of strategic flexible capacity at your fingertips can help healthcare providers of all sizes do just that.’
