Video imaging for a ‘virtual walk-around’

A ‘360 degree’ video imaging solution designed for building and facilities management personnel, with the ability to integrate floor plans, architectural drawings, and other documents, has been launched by Arithmetica, an ‘innovator in 360 degree imaging solutions and automated laser scanning data processing software’, based at the famous Shepperton Studios near London.

Mark Senior, business development manager, said of the SphereVision range of recording, processing, and playback solutions: “Using a 360  degree video or other spherical content integrated with maps, site plans, and other reference information, facilities managers have an invaluable record that allows them to view and ‘walk around’ any location directly from their computer or  tablet.

“SphereVision is also an invaluable aid for security and safety, with all-round video recordings especially useful for first responders in the case of an emergency such as a fire, explosion, or security incident. Emergency services can build up an awareness of an environment and its hazards from the safety of a control room or incident perimeter. Training scenarios can also be developed, and exercises recorded, using portable SphereVision systems.”
