EasiHeat is a ready-to-install system that uses steam in a compact, plate-and-frame heat exchanger to provide instant hot water for space heating and domestic hot water. As the hot water is supplied on-demand, there is no need to store it, avoiding the associated energy losses and significantly reducing the risk of Legionella. These installations highlight how Spirax Sarco can help organisations reduce energy and maintenance costs as well as lower carbon emissions. Blackpool Victoria Hospital is saving more than £240,000 per annum (p.a.) in energy costs plus an additional £34,000 p.a. in maintenance costs, whereas Leighton Hospital has cut water heating costs by an estimated 10-15% per annum.
This energy-saving measure is forecast to reduce carbon emissions at both hospitals to the extent that payments will also be reduced under the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme.
