Potential participants and collaborators are being sought for a research project that will examine the timing and scheduling of hospital life, to identify potential opportunities for reducing overall energy and mobility demand in hospitals.
The two-year, EPSRC-funded project, ‘Institutional Rhythms: Opportunities for Energy and Mobility Demand Management’, will be based at the DEMAND centre at Lancaster University – one of six large research centres funded by Research Councils UK to investigate end-use energy demand. The researchers are especially keen to talk with estates, facilities, and sustainability personnel, to ‘learn more about the management of different hospital activities and their timings’.
