High throughput barrier washers

Hygienic processing of laundry is particularly important in healthcare facilities, and indeed infections could be traced back to the processing of contaminated laundry not thoroughly cleaned.

Miele Professional says its washerextractors have thermal disinfection cycles which meet Department of Health CfPP 01-04 guidelines, ‘and prevent the spread of infection’. The washers are also tested and approved to WRAS category 5, ensuring that the washing machine prevents backfilling of soiled or contaminated water from the washer into the water supply.

Miele Professional manufactures machines including a range of barrier washers to separate clean and unclean laundry through different rooms. The high throughput machines have drum capacities of 160-320 litres.

The Profitronic M controls on the Miele washer-extractors control temperature and holding times precisely to comply with the required standards. Miele Professional barrier washers have special hygiene programme packages; thermal disinfection, chemo-thermal disinfection, and incontinence/soiled laundry settings, and are available with 16 kg, 24 kg, and 32 kg load capacities.
