MTX Contracts Limited has contributed to the interior of Manchester’s new private Bridgewater Hospital, including areas associated with the operating theatres, IVF facilities and ancillary accommodation. The hospital provides diagnostic, therapeutic, interventional and endoscopic services to patients in the North West.
Within the modular fit out package, MTX designed, installed and commissioned a total of three operating theatres including a new IVF theatre, an orthopaedic operating theatre and an endoscopy theatre. Also, an IVF clean room facility was provided to Class B standard.
The main orthopaedic operating theatre suite incorporates an ultra clean canopy. Integral to this canopy are a series of additional pendants, which are responsible for displaying the endoscopic images. In addition to this there is a pendant dedicated to housing specialist medical monitoring devices and equipment. This system was supplied by Conmed Linvatec and provides a complete hospital digital imaging system.
The IVF theatre is constructed directly adjacent to the Class B clean room. Within this theatre, which conforms to HTM2025, MTX installed a Brandon Galaxy 53 operating lamp. Stainless steel surgeons’ panels were also installed by MTX as part of the theatre package. This IVF facility is one of the first to meet the latest in design legislation being built to Class B. All walls, ceilings and floors were covered in vinyl providing a joint-free sterile finish – a superior working environment for IVF procedures. The facility is served by an individual airhandling unit positioned in the plant room above providing full fresh air to terminal Hepa filters.
