Applications are now open for Eastwood Park’s three new degree programmes, which can be gained while still working – the Foundation Degree in Hospital Engineering (incorporating multi-engineering disciplines: decontamination; medical gases; HVAC; water hygiene; fire; electrical; estates), the Foundation Degree in Medical Equipment Technologies, and the BSc(Hons) Management of Healthcare Engineering Technologies & Facilities.
The new degree qualifications are open to those working in medical equipment, healthcare engineering, and in estates and facilities disciplines. The foundation programmes are part-time over a two-year period. Students can learn in the workplace through workbooks, online study, and direct practice. In addition, residential study and assessment weekends will ‘assist in embedding the learning’ and ‘help with knowledge and sharing with like-minded students’. The foundation degree leads to an optional third year to achieve a BSc (Hons).
Klaus Muecher, Eastwood Park’s Higher Education programme manager, said: “We have delegates from all levels on the first cohort, and it is a pleasure to be joining at the start to support delivery of this unique degree programme for hospital engineers, as nothing like it is available from any other training provider.”
