Global plumbing and heating manufacturer, Pegler Yorkshire, has received recognition for being one of only two companies in the world to have held the BSI Kitemark for over 70 years, and the first UK business to receive the much-coveted recognition.
It was awarded the Kitemark in 1945 for its copper pipe fittings, and says it has since ‘remained unswerving’ in its quest ‘to produce products of exceptional quality’, and to ‘pioneer new
technologies and products’.
“The Kitemark symbol is something we are particularly proud of, being synonymous with our commitment to design, develop, and manufacture, quality products in all our market sectors – giving specifiers, installers, and end-users complete confidence in the Pegler Yorkshire name and all our associated brands,” said Phill Jackson, Marketing and Business Development director.
The Kitemark is awarded by BSI (the British Standards Institution), and was established in 1903. Gary Fenton, Global Product Certification director, BSI (pictured right, presenting the 70-year certification to Phill Jackson), said: “We are delighted to award Pegler Yorkshire this special award. The company is a great example of a business that has demonstrated organisational resilience through certification, holding an impressive nine BSI Kitemarks for various products, as well as ISO 9001 and CE marking.”
