New series of cost-saving dishwashers

Winterhalter's new MT Series of high volume conveyor dishwashers can cope with thousands of racks a day, making them ideal for hospital use. The MT Series is designed to deliver cost savings, not only in energy, water and detergent use but with labour and servicing too.

The MT will also appeal to hospitals whose kitchen porters are unskilled or have limited English language skills, say Winterhalter because, despite its sophisticated technology, the system is so easy to use that operator mistakes “simply cannot happen”. In addition, the MT has dozens of languages programmed into its control panel.

MT dishwasher systems are available via the Office of Government Commerce (OGC). The contract numbers are: A126449/A; A126449/A; A126449/A; the Seg numbers are 99/6; 99/8; and 99/1. The MT Series incorporates multitank conveyor systems capable of continuous washing – 24 hours a day if necessary.

Each system can be tailored to the site, using a selection of modular sections. These include the loading zone, prewash, main wash, main wash with lateral wash arms, triple rinse and drying zones, and the outlet/unloading zone.

Despite their size and capacity, an MT rack conveyor system needs only one person to operate it, loading and unloading the racks. Features like automatic start-up and AutoClean also save staff time, while the whole system is designed for easy access and servicing.

The MT incorporates a range of cost saving features. These include: the Mediamat centrifugal filtering system, which maximises the washwater life; an exhaust air heat recovery system that can save up to 12kW per hour; and an optional detergent saving device, which channels some of the rinse water back into the prewash zone, reducing detergent use by up to 50%.
