Pall Medical’s new QPoint Shower Filter Assembly, the latest addition to its Point-ofUse Water Filter product range, ‘combines an ergonomic, reusable, chromed shower handle docking station with an exchangeable filter capsule, designed and validated for retention of waterborne microorganisms such as Legionellaspp, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, non-tuberculous Mycobacteria, Escherichia coli, Aspergillus fumigatus, and Cryptosporidium parvum for up to 62 days’.
QPoint offers ‘an immediate, protective barrier of double layer 0.2 micron sterilising grade filtration media without water volume restriction’. Among ‘the many features that enable improved product performance’ are an additional, high-technology pre-filtration membrane to maintain good flow. Retrograde contamination control is enhanced through the combination of technologies within the Filter Capsule.
QPoint has been validated under both laboratory and in-use conditions. Pall Medical said: “The Filter Capsule reduces both waste and costs, and improves logistics at installation. This flexible engineering solution supports the Water Safety Plan approach, and enables longerterm cover for high risk areas, immediate coverage under critical contamination scenarios, plus pre-emptive use for sites undergoing renovation works, or for building commissioning.”
