UK partners looking to boost Nanjing’s healthcare

A partnership between Essentia Trading Ltd – the commercial arm of Essentia, Mott MacDonald, and professional services firm, EY, has seen a collaborative agreement signed to support the development of emerging healthcare requirements in Nanjing, the capital of China’s eastern Jiangsu province.

Essentia says that ‘driven by continued growth, some of China’s largest cities are experiencing a major increase in demand for the provision of world-class healthcare’. Working together with the Nanjing Health and government officials, the partnership will provide guidance on transforming healthcare provision and clinical support services, the end goal being the development of health infrastructure, hospitals, technology, staff development, and business support.

“Nanjing has already seen the benefit of working with UK organisations,” Essentia explained. King’s College London (KCL), Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust’s academic partner, already has an agreement to support Nanjing’s Health School with a King’s College London’s Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery as part of a £5.3 m health development.
