Haigh is now using products from TECcare – a leading supplier of antimicrobial products – in a system proven in scientific testing to thoroughly disinfect its macerators, initially in its new generation Quattro.
TECcare CONTROL is ‘a high level, broad spectrum’, single-stage cleaner and disinfectant which is ‘safe and noncorrosive, yet effective against all microbial classes up to and including bacterial spores’. For example, it gives a greater than Log 3 reduction in C. difficile. spores (within a 60 minute contact time when used with hard water and under dirty conditions).
Haigh said: “A scientific study undertaken and verified by an independent laboratory clearly showed adding TECcare CONTROL to a Haigh Quattro macerator, at the right dose and via the correct delivery method, effects a 106 microbial kill for the bacteria used to inoculate the test macerator (Staphylococcus Aureus and E Coli). In other studies TECcare CONTROL has been shown to be effective against bacteria, fungi/yeasts, and viruses (including antibiotic-resistant strains), for 24 hours post-application.”
