Lawyers from Addleshaw Goddard’s national projects team closed 13 major PPP and PFI deals across a range of sectors including housing, education, health and utilities, in an eight week period.

The deals have a total capital value of more than £2.3 billion and reflect the continued growth of the Addleshaws’ projects practice which saw fee income rise by 50% in 2006/07, following a 25% growth the previous year. The projects group acts for a wide range of public sector clients, project sponsors and contractors as well as debt and equity providers of finance.

The latest deals include NHS Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) projects. Addleshaw Goddard has acted or is acting on a total of 15 LIFT schemes with two further projects in procurement and many of the early schemes now having completed a number of further tranches. The recent LIFT projects to close have been those for Manchester, Salford and Trafford, St Helens, Newcastle and North Tyneside and Hull as well as an integrated care centre for the Oldham PCT.

Addleshaw Goddard’s projects practice is involved with a number of Independent Sector Treatment Centre projects, acting for the Department of Health.
