A sustainable approach to the design of healthcare facilities
Sustainability has now become a key driver in the design of all buildings – healthcare facilities included. With the regulations and guides that are available and the threat of “carbon neutral” requirements it is necessary to plan a way forward and consider what is meant by sustainable healthcare facilities and what it is realistically possible to deliver. Hopefully this presentation will look at some of the practicalities and point the way to the IHEEM approach.
11.45 – 12.30 Tom Cumberledge, The Carbon Trust
NHS Carbon Management
This presentation will cover the NHS Carbon Management Programme and will look to deliver the key lessons learnt from Phase 1 of the programme. The presentation will also outline how NHS trusts can utilise the Carbon Trust to reduce their CO2 emissions and how this could result in financial savings. Points covered in the presentation will also be applicable to those working in the private sector.
12.35 – 13.05 IHEEM AGM
13.05 – 14.00 Lunch and close
For lunch and refreshment purposes members are asked to book their attendance at the event.
