Wall cladding can cut carbon emissions

Dryvit UK claims that its exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS) can reduce carbon emissions by providing energy efficient insulation.

Sales and marketing director Andrew Wallace said: “One major benefit of EIFS is that insulation is more effective when placed on the exterior of a building, because the whole structure is kept warm. This eliminates thermal bridges and reduces air, wind and moisture penetration through the system.

The result is the elimination of differences in temperature and moisture across the building envelope, making heating and ventilating more efficient and easier to control.”

The company claims that building owners, architects and specifiers are given “a real chance to effectively reduce carbon emissions” by installing EIFS.
