Hollow fibre filters ‘trap and remove bacteria’

Filtration and water treatment product supplier, Fileder Filter Systems, has released a full validation guide for Pentair’s X-Flow Medical Shower & Tap range of filter products.

Fileder explained: “Ideal for use in hospitals, the Medical Shower & Tap range offers all the benefits of hollow fibre technology in a neat and compact filter that connects directly to the end of the tap, using one of the adaptors supplied, in order to filter the water at the point-of-use.  Hollow fibre is a tried, tested, and clinically proven technology in the fight against Legionella and Pseudomonas in hospital water.”

The filter systems have been designed to trap and remove bacteria from the water by means of hundreds of polyethersulfone hollow fibre strands; each includes billions of microscopic pores that allow water to pass through the outer layers and into the inner tube, while trapping the bacteria on the outside. Fileder said: “The bacteria-free water then passes down the tube and out of the tap.”

Downloadable free from Fileder’s website, the 76-page validation guide incorporates full technical information, detailed product descriptions, product packaging details, case studies, installation instructions, and certification.
