Security systems win approval

Redstone Communications has been awarded Systems Silver approval by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) in recognition of its commitment to providing effective protection to health organisations against threats to voice, data, internet and building security.

The company’s communications platform Smart B (Smart Buildings) enables healthcare providers to run security applications such as IP CCTV over a local area network (LAN) so that users with password access can view and monitor the cameras and retrieve recordings via their PC. Smart B can also support access control technologies, from smartcards to biometrics, for physical entry to buildings and logging onto computer networks. With images stored safely online and alarms linked directly to security staff and the local police, security is heightened and extra protection provided for sensitive zones such as maternity and drug wards.

Tom Mullarkey, chief executive at NSI said, “NSI is committed to protecting the customer by endorsing companies with the highest standards in security. Systems Silver approval recognises Redstone for its serious commitment to providing secure corporate solutions.”

Rob Bruce, product development director of Redstone Communications added, “Healthcare providers today need to protect their patients, staff and assets. It is vital that they adopt stringent measures to minimise exposure to risk. As an NSI-approved supplier, our customers can feel safe in the knowledge that Redstone adheres to best practice and observes the highest standards to safeguard their assets.”
