Brighton trust chooses parking management

A new system to manage more than 3,000 parking permits and provide effective enforcement procedures for all of its car parks has been adopted by Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals.

The NHS Trust has confirmed the selection of Langdale Systems’ Permit Gateway and Parking Gateway solutions to maximise the efficiency of its Traffic Department.
The solutions provided by Bristol-based Langdale Systems, part of Imperial Business Systems, will manage all aspects of permit processing, tracking, renewal and issue and is fully web-based to optimise flexibility, provide maximum convenience for all users and to minimise time-consuming administration.  All enforcement notices will also be managed, progressed and monitored by the new system, with all Psion Workabout Pro hand-held terminals linked directly to the main database.
The web-enabled Permit Gateway system will allow the Trust to process and manage all permit allocation from receiving payments, giving refunds, producing duplicates, issuing reminder letters through to cancellation or renewal.  All initial or renewal applications and notification of changes in vehicle details can be submitted over the internet, providing optimum convenience for applicants while improving back office efficiencies. Moreover, the system is easily configured to handle any existing rules for different types of permit as well as future rule changes and new pricing structures. The Trust’s back-office support system for parking enforcement will be based on Langdale Systems’ Parking Gateway, which will manage and monitor all enforcement notices from the point of issue through to payment or appeal.  Because the handheld terminals are to be linked directly to the permit database, all attendants will have finger-tip access to up-to-date information on all permit holders to maximise accuracy of all notices and minimise the scope for appeals.
