As an established and accredited training provider to both the NHS and private sector, BOC Healthcare says it is ‘committed to empowering staff to understand and use medical gases safely’.
It said: “We offer a wide range of training courses, and have developed them to include a variety of teaching, learning, and assessment styles, with delivery structured to be accessible to as many healthcare staff as possible.” The courses are regularly reviewed and updated, and new courses introduced where needed. The Laboratory Gas Safety training course and extended e-learning provision are two of BOC Healthcare’s most recent innovations.
The former training course addresses the roles, responsibilities, and procedures required to ensure best practice in the safe use and application of gases and associated equipment in the laboratory environment. The three-hour course combines tuition, course notes, practical sessions, and assessment, and can be delivered on site or at BOC premises.
BOC Healthcare has also extended its e-learning provision, which allows nurses and porters to learn about basic gas safety ‘in their own time and at their own pace,’ accessing the course directly through each hospital’s own learning management system.
