Construction product manufacturer, AG, has expanded its specification team to cover the whole of the UK and Ireland with the appointment of seven people.
The expansion comes on the back of a 10% increase in general sales across the business, and will see the seven-strong team focus on commercial growth ‘through relationship building’ with architects, engineers, local authorities and key decision-makers across the education, health, residential, and commercial sectors.
Rodney Davidson, newly appointed head of Specifications, explained why the decided to expand the team at this time. He said: “During the downturn, the construction industry went into survival mode, and focussed on immediate returns rather than long-term project pipelines in order to minimise risk. Now that we have come through the downturn, a more long-term view is required when it comes to educating key decision-makers on why our products, or, more to the point, the solutions they provide, are superior, and should be integrated into large-scale projects from the earliest stages of the design process.”
Operating across the whole of the UK and Ireland, the Specification team worka with professionals involved in large-scale building design and landscaping projects to share knowledge and advise them on the latest developments in construction products, ‘so that they can make informed decisions when specifying quality products’.
AG also hosts approved Continual Professional Development (CPD) events for architect firms across the UK and Ireland. These typically involve a member of the Specification team sharing the latest in standards and product innovation within the concrete market – ‘from precast structures and paving to acoustic and drainage solutions’.
