Demand for high quality, cost-effective turnkey delivery of operating theatre upgrades and new-build projects is driving ‘a business boom’ for Bender UK, the company says.
The electrical safety expert says it is ‘uniquely placed to offer a total solution’ encompassing surgical lighting, pendants, touchscreen control panels, and PACS screens, combined with medical IT power systems, resilient changeover technology, and uninterruptible power supplies.
MD, Gareth Brunton, explained: “Bender UK has the breadth and depth of design, engineering, project management, and commissioning expertise to meet our customers’ meticulous requirements. NHS Trusts and contractors benefit from our experience of 20 years at the forefront of the industry, and delivery of 24/7 service support to over 500 UK hospitals.”
Bender says two recent projects demonstrate the scope of its operation – theatres and critical care areas at the £12 m South Lakes Birth Centre at Furness General Hospital (pictured) are equipped with Bender ultra-safe medical IT power systems and uninterruptible power supplies safeguarding critical ‘Group 2’ areas. Both theatres benefit from Bender UK hygienic touchscreen theatre control panels, the new Bender clinical pendants, and the ‘award-winning Merivaara QFlow LED surgical lights’
At the University Hospital Southampton, Bender UK worked with the Trust to upgrade two operating theatres and engineered a bespoke solution for the hygienic touchscreen control panels to minimise disruption to theatre working. Merivaara Q Flow surgical lights and Bender’s new pendant range were installed to house medical gases and other essential services
