Dr Tom Makin, directorate manager, medical microbiology of the Royal Liverpool University Hospitals will be presenting the most up to date information on this subject at a seminar hosted by the North West IHEEM group, at Ellen House in Oldham.
Dr Makin's presentation will cover a brief epidemiology of Legionnaires disease, followed by some updates from the new HTM 04-01. He will also present the results of 8 months of research that he has carried out; on the relative merits of swan-neck taps (now contraindicated in HFN 30) and downward displacement taps.
This presentation is interspersed with excellent graphics and fascinating anecdotes which will appeal to a very diverse audience.
