Compliant tubular fittings launched

To help builders, contractors and specifiers ensure that all commercial and public buildings satisfy the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and Building Regulations Pt.M:2004, Reading-based Kee Klamp has introduced a new range of galvanised iron fittings.

Under the terms of the DDA, all commercial and public building owners are obliged to provide non-discriminatory balustrading and handrailing on stairways and ramps. The Building Regulations recommend an outside diameter tube size for such installations of between 40 mm-45 mm. The new 500 Range of Kee Klamp fittings is specifically designed to give a smooth handrail with size 7 tube (outside diameter 42.4 mm) and is therefore compatible with the DDA recommendations.

The 500 Range incorporates a total of nine new fittings and is supplied with versatility, ease and speed of installation in mind. Ideal for use in creating new structures, the range can also be used as a retrofit solution, because it includes an offset fitting which allows a new handrail to be added onto an existing structure of appropriate size.
