Cowan Architects has announced that it has incorporated Alexander Sedgley Architects of Greenwich into its East Grinstead and London Bridge practice, with immediate effect.
The move brings together two established architectural practices that enjoy common market interests and sets of values in order to build and expand their current portfolios. Cowan Architects said: “Our creativity, innovation, and expertise will also be strengthened across the healthcare, residential, education, commercial, sports, and leisure markets, where they will be able to further enhance the services they already offer their clients. Alexander Sedgley Architects in particular, brings additional knowledge and expertise in challenging inner city planning and developments, urban regeneration, and a wider geographical reach within the UK. These skills will complement the growing work that Cowan Architects has undertaken in mixed-use masterplanning and design focused architecture.”
Phillip Mumford, MD at Cowan Architects, said: “We have proven capabilities across a number of sectors, and it makes perfect sense for us to combine forces now. We will be able to enjoy the rewards that a stronger skillset and wider opportunities will offer our clients”.
Stephen Alexander, Alexander Sedgley’s managing director, added: “We are both award-winning companies with a reputation and enthusiasm that is recognised across the region. The integration of two practices of pedigree is perfect timing. We have created some hugely beneficial opportunities by bringing both teams together, and it will be an exciting prospect and a positive move forward into the future.”
