Sensors help optimise use of space in the workplace

Let’s start with the obvious: healthcare generally in this country is under huge pressure, and maximising the utilisation of the healthcare system’s own resources is one essential strategy for every organisation. Slightly less obvious is the fact that property must be a key focus in this. Less obvious still is exactly how to go about making a property portfolio work harder, and verging on obscurity are some of the proven approaches and technologies that can be imported from other sectors to deliver significant benefits for healthcare. 

The same principles apply to all healthcare operators, but within the NHS two major reports in the last two years define the challenge. Confounding the calendar, the 2017 Naylor Review set the scene for the focus on property, while the 2016 Carter Review provided some of the targets to be hit on the way to improved resource utilisation.
