James Rees moves into IT

James Rees, IHEEM recruitment and membership manager, has left the Institute to move into the IT sector.

He joined the IHEEM Portsmouth office staff in June 2006 as the membership officer, and quickly adapted to the role, grasping and assimilating the complexities of membership registration and the pathway routes to Engineering Council Registration.

James Rees showed early strengths in IT skills by his understanding of, and improvements to, the IHEEM membership database system that maintains track of all 2,300 IHEEM members and their personal details.

He gained internal promotion to recruitment and membership manager in January this year and, as well as managing his day job in membership recruitment, has steered through a significant upgrade to the office IT systems.

John Long, IHEEM CEO, said: “During his year and a half with the Institute, James has made a significant contribution to the membership section, the membership database and the whole office IT system. We all wish him every success in his future career.”
